Make Music Winter

Make Music Winter, a new festival from Make Music New York, features twelve participatory, musical parades throughout NYC on December 21, the first night of winter. Inspired by composer Phil Kline’s annual boombox sound-sculpture Unsilent Night, Make Music Winter includes new musical projects for bells, brass bands, guitars, iPhones, percussionists, singers, strings, and more — plus a brand-new boombox piece by Phil Kline starting at Grand Army Plaza.

All of the parades are free, but they require you — yes, you — to carry a boombox, pound on the side of a building, or perform some other activity to make the music happen. See the list online for instructions on how to join each one.
